Bobcat Bolt charitable donations

  • The Oyster River Alumni Association is pleased to support the Josh and Nate Hardy Scholarship fund with the vast majority of the profits from the annual Bobcat Bolt road race.

  • The Josh and Nate Hardy awards are given out annually to 3 graduating seniors at Oyster River High School. The Josh Hardy Award supports an aspiring art student and the Nate Hardy Awards benefit one male and one female athlete.

  • Since 2012 ORAA has donated $34,500 to the memory of Josh and Nate through supporting these awards. Prior to supporting the Josh and Nate Hardy Fund the Bobcat Bolt race supported the Oyster River Teen Initiative (ORTI) from 2009 to 2011, giving out approximately $8,120 to ORTI during that period.

  • A small amount of profits from the Bobcat Bolt are sometimes used support a variety of other Oyster River classroom, athletics, and PTO projects.

Who Were Josh and Nate Hardy?

Josh and Nate Hardy were two Oyster River brothers who sadly passed away before their time.  Josh Hardy (Class of 1993) died in 1993 after a courageous 18-month battle with brain cancer.

Nate (Class of 1997) was killed while conducting combat operations in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom Feb. 4, 2008.
